Backflow Testing

A backflow prevention device is used to protect water supplies from contamination or pollution due to backflow. In supply systems water is normally maintained at a significant pressure to enable water to flow to fixtures but two types of backflow can occur, back-pressure and back-siphonage. Additionally while the backflow device may not show visible signs of damage it contains internal seals and springs that are subject to wear. It's important to test these devices and submit the proper documents to the city annually.

FAQ

Do I need to submit any papers to the city?

Every year when a certified technician tests and inspects your Bacflow they also submit the proper forms to the city and pay a fee. This fee can vary from city to city and is usually added to the testing fee.
